Besan Laddu for Janmashtami celebration

Ingredients Required

  • Gram flour or Besan
  • Milk
  • Powdered sugar
  • Pure ghee
  • Cardamom powder
  • Kewra or rose essence
  • Dry Fruits like cashews, raisins and almonds.

    Process

    Take the ghee in a pan and let it warm. Add besan to this ghee. And stir fry the besan until it turns golden brown. You should not try to fry the gram flour on a high flame as it might burn it. Actually, frying of the besan is a tedious process and takes time. So, you should sauté it on low flame but continuously stirring. As the besan is browned, you will get a beautiful aroma of cooked flour. Remove the pan and allow it to cool. Then add powdered cardamom and sugar to it. Also add few drops of rose essence to it. Finely chop the dry fruits and add. Finally, give the shape of round balls to the besan. The sweet dish is ready to be served.
